MIDAQ divests Hillerstorp

MIDAQ today announced the divestment of its Hillerstorp business to BHG Group, the leading Nordic online player and one of Europe’s strongest companies in DIY and home furnishings, with more than 100 online destinations.

Hillerstorp, founded in 1929, has developed and produced outdoor and garden furniture for generations and has built one of the most recognized and trusted brands in the industry. The transaction forms part of MIDAQ’s strategy to streamline its portfolio, reduce leverage, and strengthen overall profitability.

Stefan Engdahl, CEO of MIDAQ, commented:

Hillerstorp has undergone a strong transformation since we acquired the business in 2017. The company has evolved from a manufacturing-focused operation into a modern, commercially driven organisation centred on product development, assortment, and multi-channel sales. With BHG as the new owner, Hillerstorp is well positioned for its next phase of growth. The combination of Hillerstorp’s strong brand and established retail relationships with BHG’s digital capabilities and broad customer reach creates an excellent platform for continued development.

Gustaf Öhrn, CEO of BHG Group, added:

This acquisition clearly demonstrates our continued focus on strengthening selected core categories through proprietary brands and disciplined add-on acquisitions. Hillerstorp brings a strong heritage and a well-established position within Swedish outdoor furniture. We see significant opportunities to further develop the brand by leveraging BHG’s customer reach, digital sales channels, and purchasing scale.
